How to Overcome Shyness

If You're Serious about gaining self confidence, READ THIS NOW!

Everyone experiences shyness at sometime or another. However, feeling too much shyness will surely weigh you down in many aspects of your life. Here there are few tips that can be followed to overcome shyness and gain some awareness of the issue.

1. Try to collect some details about the people you admire and emulate them. If the people you admire are outgoing, try to emulate that outgoingness. Try to talk and act as they do, and soon it will become second nature to you.

2. Ask lots of questions when you’re talking to people. Ask about their lives and interests. This will make you come across as truly interested in them, and will make you an attractive person to be around in their eyes.  Talk more about them than yourself. Use the words “I” and “me” infrequently, and opt instead for “you.”

3. Think about the reasons for your shyness. How did it develop? Why do you have it? Do you even know? If you know what caused you to be shy, it will be easier to overcome it. Just eliminate the cause and feel freedom from the affliction at last.

4. Pretend like you don’t feel shy. Hold your head up, push your chest out, and walk with confidence. Give people firm handshakes and look them in the eye as you do. The more you act like you’re not shy, the less shy you’ll feel.

5. Realize that everyone has been rejected at some point in their lives, even the most outgoing, popular people. The difference between them and you is that they didn’t let it get them down. They didn’t let it affect their self esteem. They simply let it bounce off of them and then moved on to the next challenge. Ultimately, to outgoing people, their opinion of themselves matters more to them than the opinions of others. This knowledge is the best way to overcome shyness.
